Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Alexandra Penta has been drawn to caring and advocating for children since she was young herself, and is so excited and grateful for the opportunity to bring that passion to life as a pediatric dentist!
Dr. Allie grew up in Belmont, MA and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College where she majored in Mathematics, minored in Art, and competed in the NESCAC as a four-year member of the Women’s Soccer Team.
She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2021. Upon graduation, Dr. Allie was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Honos Civicus Society for contributions to community service, and the Robert R. Andrews Honor Society for the Promotion of Dental Research. She was also awarded the Jack and Anne Rubin Endowed Senior Prize Fund in Pediatric Dentistry, and was honored to receive several other academic and extracurricular awards while in dental school. As someone who is driven by giving back to her community, throughout her tenure at Tufts Dr. Allie was heavily involved in mission-driven organizations, namely leading and serving on the executive boards for the Tufts chapters of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA), American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and Give Kids a Smile. Desiring to positively impact the wider Boston community, she also spent several years volunteering for the local program Minds Matter Boston as a mentor and Associate Board member outside of dental school.
Dr. Allie completed her post-graduate training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA where received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. During her time in residency, she developed and carried out a research project focused on the relationship between lifestyle factors, Early Childhood Caries development, and extended breastfeeding, and helped to develop curriculum for a medical residency program located in Vietnam in conjunction with the Penn Perlman School of Medicine. She is currently Board Eligible with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and American Dental Association (ADA).
Dr. Allie strives to foster a warm and empowering environment in each of her visits with children and their families, and is committed to optimizing her patients’ oral and overall health. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Allie loves being active (indoor cycling, Pilates/yoga, walking), learning about holistic health and wellness, spending time in nature, traveling, and nurturing her relationships with friends and family.
